A specific reception for travelers is set up at Paris Charles De Gaulle and Saint-Denis de La Réunion airports for flights from China, Hong Kong and Macao.
This reception is provided by personnel from approved civil security associations, in conjunction with the airport medical service, reinforced by medical and paramedical health professionals from the health reserve of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health. Surgical masks and information documents in 3 languages “‹“‹(French, English and Mandarin) are given to all passengers to inform them of the action to be taken during the 14 days following their return from China, so as to ensure rapid detection of '' possible new cases of coronavirus on the territory. France has significant stocks of surgical masks.
The staff mobilized for this reception are at the disposal of travelers to answer their questions.
1-Should we use a mask?
2-Wearing a surgical mask is recommended for symptomatic sick people to avoid spreading the disease by air. It is also recommended that people returning from China (mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao), Singapore, South Korea, or the regions of Lombardy and Veneto in Italy, wear a surgical mask for the 14 days following their return date when they are face to face with other people or when they go out. The wearing of this type of mask in order not to catch the coronavirus COVID-19, by the population not sick and who has not traveled to China (mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao), Singapore, South Korea, or from the regions of Lombardy and Veneto in Italy, is not recommended and its effectiveness has not been demonstrated. However, for nationals staying abroad, the local health authorities can impose the wearing of a mask; however this should not neglect essential protective measures including regular hand washing with soap or with an alcohol-based gel.
