With the Canadian Air Show season now concluded, many aviation enthusiasts and Air Show fans look back on the many thrilling performances and fond memories of the 2019 season. Air Show fans in Atlantic Canada are beaming with jubilation after a banner year of incredible air displays with some of the highlights being the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the CF-18 Demo Team, the Royal Air Force Red Arrows and the United States Navy Blue Angels. The Canadian Forces SkyHawks were no exception to the superior performances that were seen in the region. 14 Wing CFB Greenwood was the host for the 2019 Atlantic Canada International Air Show where the Skyhawks would make their only performances in the region this year. The show was held on the Labour Day long  weekend August 31st  and September 1st and the Skyhawks were the opening performers on both days. During each appearance  the audience was treated to a series of graceful dives with skillfull  formations and exciting maneuvers all including their trademark parachutes which resemble the Canadian flag. Each day as the Skyhawks began their performance, the Greenwood Military Wives Choir would perform both the Canadian and United States national anthem as the first diver made his descent displaying an American and Canadian flag. It was a great way to welcome the American performers and show our appreciation to all the service members for their sacrifice.
Although details of next years Air Show lineup have not been released, one can be sure that the Canadian Forces Skyhawks will be included bringing their team spirit and good will to the sky above.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your Canadian Forces SkyHawks!
